A Brilliant Reply to a Newspaper's Opinion Writer's Lament for Overturning Part of the Voting Rights Act

The Detroit Free Press's Stephen Henderson, the paper's editorial page editor, writes a muddled piece on the Supreme Court's 5-4 decision that acknowledges southern states are vastly different than they were in 1965 when the legislation was enacted. Mr. Henderson brings up the birth of his father in the South in 1933.

A commentator's brilliant and pity reply deserves a wide reading.

Jeff Bickerstaff of Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, responds at the paper's website via Facebook as follows:  Stephen [Henderson], chose to live in your son's world, not your father's.
